Ich habe mich für insgesamt fünf Wochen auf den Weg nach Thailand gemacht, einerseits weil ich das Land und seine Besonderheiten liebe, andererseits weil ich die Cannabiskultur und auch Canna Queens näher kennenlernen wollte. In Thailand wurde im Jahr 2022 das erhighternde Kraut nahezu über Nacht legalisiert .
Thailand hatte schon immer eine ausgeprägte Weed Kultur, denn, eines ist klar: Nur weil Cannabis in Thailand illegal und teilweise mit schweren Strafen versehen war, florierte das Geschäft mit der beliebten Pflanze. Viele Einheimische und die Touristen nutzen die Vorzüge von THC haltigem Weed, ob es illegal war oder auch nicht. Daher hatte die Regierung einen revolutionären Schritt gewagt und den Besitz und Anbau von Cannabis als erstes und einziges asiatisches Land legalisiert.
Cannabis in Thailand
Cannabis in Thailand ist nun seit fast zwei Jahren legal, die Vorteile liegen klar auf der Hand:
- Entlastung der Justiz.
- Verdrängung des Schwarzmarktes – erhöhter Schutz für alle Konsument*innen.
- kontrollierte Cannabisblüten und somit weniger belastende Stoffe und Gefahren für Konsument*innen.
- keine cannabisbasierte Kriminalisierung von Menschen.
- Suchtkranke Menschen trauen sich eher, Hilfe anzunehmen.
- höhere Steuereinnahmen.
- weitere Arbeitsplätze für Einheimische.
- Anregung des Tourismus. Das war ein wichtiger Punkt für die thailändische Regierung, denn die Pandemie hatte für hohe Einbußen gesorgt.
Mit der Legalisierung öffneten unzählige Dispensaries, die das Weed zu teilweisen hohen Preisen anbieten. Alleine in der Hauptstadt Bangkok gibt es über 5000 Cannabisshops, die Dunkelziffer ist höher. Trotz der Legalisierung ist es nicht überall erlaubt zu kiffen, vor allem nicht in der Öffentlichkeit. Doch viele Cannabisshops haben Lounges eingerichtet, damit die Kunden das erworbene Gras direkt dort legal rauchen können.
Die Canna Queen aus Bangkok
Ich habe auf Empfehlung eines Freundes, der in Bangkok lebt, einen ganz besonderen Cannabis-Shop aufgesucht: Amélie, der Laden von Frauen für Frauen und ich war sofort begeistert. Der Shop ist mit so viel Liebe und Hingabe eingerichtet, dass man sich dort nur wohlfühlen kann.
Die Besitzerin Rada ist eine offene, liebenswerte und lustige Person, wir haben uns auf Anhieb richtig gut verstanden. Sie hat aufgrund der Probleme, die einige Stonerinnen in Thailand haben, diesen speziellen Laden eröffnet. Der erste Stock ist wie ein gemütliches Wohnzimmer eingerichtet und die dort vorhandenen Couches laden zum Chillen und Verweilen ein. Rada veranstaltet regelmäßige Partys (Pyjama oder Videoabende), die zahlreich von einigen Canna Queens besucht werden.

Ich war während meines Aufenthaltes mehrmals in dem Amélie-Shop. Rada und ich haben ganz besondere Stunden und wunderbare Gespräche erlebt. Die Qualität des Grases, das sie in ihrem pinkfarbenen Laden anbietet, ist herausragend und wir haben einige Sorten geraucht. Die Basis stimmte einfach, denn egal auf welchem Kontinent, einige Probleme haben wir Stoner Ladys leider alle gemeinsam.
In einem kleinen Interview erklärt Rada, warum sie diesen speziellen Ort für Frauen geschaffen hat, in dem aber auch Männer willkommen sind. Sie hat einen Safeplace speziell für Frauen eröffnet, indem sich alle Stonerinnen wohlfühlen und willkommen fühlen sollen. Außerdem begleitet sie die Canna Queens und all diejenigen, die das erste Mal Gras ausprobieren, mit ihrem Fachwissen und ihrer Erfahrung.
Die Sorten, die sie im Amélie Shop anbietet, wählt sie mit großer Sorgfalt aus. Eines der größten Probleme ist, dass die Frauen nicht wissen, wo sie ihr Gras rauchen sollen, denn in vielen Wohnungen ist es auch auf dem Balkon nicht erlaubt, Weed oder Tabak zu rauchen und auch in der Öffentlichkeit ist es verboten. Das würden ohnehin die wenigsten tun, denn sie müssten sich mit verschiedenen Blicken und auch Sprüchen auseinandersetzen. Das ist natürlich ein Problem, denn schließlich benötigen die Stonerinnen einen Platz, wo sie konsumieren und sich sicher fühlen können.
Rada hat bereits einige Stammkundinnen, die nahezu täglich, beispielsweise nach einem anstrengenden Arbeitstag, ihren Guten-Abend-Joint rauchen, noch bevor sie nach Hause gehen. Nachdem ich Rada das Dritte mal besucht habe, kam uns spontan die Idee, ein Interview zu halten. Das findest du ganz unten auf der Seite.
Ich muss an dieser Stelle einmal betonen, dass wir zu dem Zeitpunkt des Interviews schon einiges geraucht hatten und daher unser Englisch eher auf einem High Level war :). Das Interview ist, wie bereits erwähnt, aus einer spontanen Idee heraus entstanden und mit dem Handy aufgenommen, daher ist auch die Qualität nicht die beste. Doch ich wollte dir das Video nicht vorenthalten. Es zeigt und betont einfach, dass die Hingabe zu Cannabis, Menschen auf der ganzen Welt verbindet. Egal, ob sprachliche oder auch kulturelle Barrieren vorhanden sind, die grüne Sprache ist nahezu überall die Gleiche.
Als Zeichen meiner Dankbarkeit für die tollen Momente habe ich Rada ein T-Shirt von unseren Partnern Hazefly geschenkt. Im Austausch erhielt ich ein Amélie-Shirt. - Stimulation of tourism. This was an important point for the Thai government, as the pandemic had caused huge losses.
Legalisation led to the opening of countless dispensaries, some of which offered weed at high prices. There are over 5,000 cannabis shops in the capital Bangkok alone, and the number of unreported cases is higher. Despite legalisation, it is not allowed to smoke weed everywhere, especially not in public. However, many cannabis shops have set up lounges so that customers can legally smoke the weed they buy there and then.
The Canna Queen from Bangkok
I visited a very special cannabis shop on the recommendation of a friend who lives in Bangkok: Amélie, the shop by women for women and I was instantly hooked. The shop is decorated with so much love and dedication that you can only feel at home there.
The owner Rada is an open, lovely and funny person and we got on really well straight away. She opened this special shop because of the problems that some stoners have in Thailand. The first floor is furnished like a cosy living room and the couches there invite you to chill out and linger. Rada organises regular parties (pyjama or video nights), which are attended by many canna queens.
Cannabis Connecting People
I visited the Amélie shop several times during my stay. Rada and I had very special hours and wonderful conversations. The quality of the weed she offers in her pink-coloured shop is outstanding and we smoked several varieties. The basis was just right, because regardless of the continent, we stoner ladies unfortunately all have some problems in common.
In a short interview, Rada explains why she has created this special place for women, but where men are also welcome. She has opened a safe place especially for women, where all female stoners should feel comfortable and welcome. She also guides the canna queens and all those trying weed for the first time with her expertise and experience.
She selects the strains she offers in the Amélie Shop with great care. One of the biggest problems is that the women don’t know where to smoke their weed, because in many flats it is not allowed to smoke weed or tobacco even on the balcony and it is also forbidden in public. Very few people would do this anyway, as they would have to deal with various looks and even jokes. This is of course a problem, as stoners need a place where they can consume and feel safe.

Rada already has some regular customers who smoke their good evening joint almost every day, for example after a hard day’s work, before they go home. After I visited Rada for the third time, we spontaneously came up with the idea of doing an interview.
I must emphasise at this point that we had already smoked quite a bit at the time of the interview and therefore our English was at a rather high level :). As already mentioned, the interview was a spontaneous idea and was recorded on a mobile phone, so the quality is not the best. But I didn’t want to withhold the video from you. It simply shows and emphasises that dedication to cannabis unites people all over the world. Regardless of language or cultural barriers, the green language is the same almost everywhere.
